Mariana Cook: Out of Place-Out of Time

In Out of Place–Out of Time, internationally renowned photographic artist Mariana Cook powerfully yet poetically places glacial erratics at the center—mighty, timeless stones carried across continents by glaciers over millennia. Cook follows these silent witnesses of history, which unite past, present, and future, transforming them into striking visual narratives. Mariana Cook is widely known for her intimate portraits of influential figures from politics, art, and literature, including Jorge Luis Borges, Sonia Rykiel, and Michelle and Barack Obama. Here she shifts her focus from the human subject to the landscape, opening a contemplative dialogue on time, memory, and presence.
