4 Baruch (Paraleipomena Jeremiou)

Written at the beginning of the 2nd century, the text known as 4 Baruch (or Paraleipomena Jeremiou) reflects the situation in Palestine on the eve of the Bar-Kokhba War by retelling the story of the Babylonian captivity of the Jewish people. This volume presents the Greek text, along with a new English translation. Commentary by Herzer (theology, U. of Leipzig) places the text within its historical and literary setting and offers a theological interpretation of its religious ideas.
