When You Meet a Dragon

Key Selling Points

• A child is alone when they spot a terrifying dragon in the sky. They rally their community to defend their town, and with everyone united, the dragon flees.
• The story of vanquishing an enemy has a double meaning in the metaphor of a child facing any new challenge or fear. The story''s message is that, while you might feel alone, you can gather the support of others to help you get through. It shows both a child''s bravery and leadership but also how important one''s support system is during tough times.
• The setting is a modern-day city, giving this dragon tale a fresh and relatable feel.
• In Udayana Lugo''s colorful illustrations, there''s plenty of fun to balance the suspense and peril, with animal helpers and lots of background detail (and subtle humor).
