This volume collects the writings of Swedenborg, who was an 18th-century scientist, engineer, politician, philosopher, and theological writer, on the process of spiritual growth, which he called regeneration. He describes the roles of will, understanding, love, faith, goodwill, freedom, and repentance; the processes of reformation (looking from the earthly self to the spiritual self) and regeneration (becoming someone who is both spiritual and earthly); the role of levels of love and wisdom, warmth and light, and atmosphere in regeneration; and the messages of the biblical story of creation.
