Unfading Light : Contemplations and Speculations

Russian Orthodox theologian Bulgakov (1871-1944) collected miscellanies on his philosophical thought for publication in 1917 as Svet nevechernii: Sozertsaniia i umozreniia. Smith (Eastern Christian history and theology, U. of St. Michael's College, Toronto) introduces the collection by tracing the road that led Bulgakov to it. The essays and meditations are in sections on the nature of religious consciousness, divine nothing, the world, and the human being. Annotation 2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
