Originally published in 1925 by B.T. Batsford, Ltd., London, with the same title plus a lengthy subtitle, this unabridged replication features 100 illustrations of buildings in England and continental Europe by such renowned architects as Christopher Wren. The author, for whom no biographical information is given, provides analyses of the geometrical principles that render these edifices classic. The purpose of this volume, stated in the original introduction, still stands: to provide a reference to classical-style design. Indexed by architectural feature.
